Private property developers
Novoferm at BAU 2009: Sector: "Private property developers"
Design, comfort, safety: Front doors, garage doors and side doors
BAU 2009,
Design, safety and operating comfort, together with the highly topical issue of "energy savings", are the driving forces behind the development of new and improvement of existing front doors, garage doors and operators and side doors for private construction. New surfaces, multi-level closing and locking options, communication units and EIB integration offer individual approaches to designing and fitting one-family and multi-family dwellings, as do heat insulation and energy efficient operating systems.
NovoPortal range of front doors
For the first time, Novoferm is presenting the range of NovoPortal front doors it has already brought to market to the general trade public at a trade fair at BAU 2009. The exhibits on show at the fair, however, only demonstrate a fraction of the programme diversity since each NovoPortal front door is absolutely unique. The manifold options for varying the design, safety features and heat insulation offered by the front doors are demonstrated on large flat screens by the front door configurator: The "door of your dreams" can be generated from a range of more than seventy basic models to exactly match the respective house and its residents. "Multi-functional" is the key word Novoferm is using to also present a front door with integrated communications unit. The house number, bell, intercom, automatic door opener and video viewer are fully integrated both optically and functionally into the leaf of the door.
Combination: Sectional garage door and garage side door
Novoferm is expanding its range of steel and wood sectional garage doors to include new and elegant surfaces and embossed door surfaces. "Titanium metallic" is the name of a new, high-quality metal finish that will be available for both iso 45 sectional garage doors and side doors from 2009 onwards. Prism embossing on iso 20 sectional garage doors is another of the innovations being presented at BAU 2009, together with a design option where only the lock section of the door features the new embossed design. Garage side doors with matching appearance are also available. Novoferm is no longer leaving its iso 45 sectional garage doors with "ocoumé" wood finish untreated; these are now clear varnished inside and out at the factory. The special varnish really brings out the grain of the wood, greatly enhancing the appearance of the garage door.
Garage door configurator: The simple way to choose a new garage door
The garage door configurator, which Novoferm is launching parallel to its front door configurator for BAU 2009, demonstrates in photo quality which type of door with which surface, embossing and colour best matches the garage and house. Authorised dealers can use the software to import any model of Novoferm door straight onto the digital photo of a garage on a computer. This allows property developers to immediately assess the visual impact of different embossed patterns, surfaces, colours and glazing options and choose the door of their dreams, secure in the knowledge that they have selected the right style. In addition to making it easier for dealers to advise their clients by providing visualisation support, the garage door configurator also simplifies the planning and execution processes. The menu navigation for clarification, offers and orders has automatic plausibility control and performs step-by-step checks of the dimensions as entered and the selected door components, thus resulting in a technically perfectly clarified offer that is ready for order submission. The user can individually specify the relevant prices quoted.
Garage door operators: Low energy consumption, high levels of comfort
Novoferm has reduced the energy consumption of both its integrated sectional door operating system NovoPort® and its Novomatic 553 S ceiling operator to 0.5 W in stand-by mode. Moreover, both operating systems can be fitted with energy-saving lamps in future. A range of wall and coded key pads is equally new and fully compatible both with each other and with Novoferm's hand transmitters; they offer a state of the art, standard design and can be wired or radio controlled. For example, the radio-controlled wall switch Signal 111 uses secure rolling code signal transmission with KeeLoq system to separately control two garage door operators or one garage door operator and the lighting. At the same time, the remote coded key pad Signal 218 can be used to open the door from the outside without the need for a hand transmitter. Both radio controlled switches run on a standard battery with a service life of about four years when used three times a day on average. The programmed data are retained during battery changes. Wall switch Signal 112 is a wired option. It can switch the garage door operator and the lighting separately and also offers a function that switches off all switches and transmitters centrally during longer absence.
EIB/KNX tie-in for garage doors and entrance gates
In future, Novoferm will make it possible to tie garage doors and entrance gates into the BUS controlled building automation system using the optional EIB/KNX interface for the Novomatic 553 S ceiling operator, the NovoGate sliding door operator and the NovoSwing swing door operator. The door operators transmit status reports of "open", "closed" or "additionally locked" to the central EIB/KNX module bus using a choice of BUS wiring, radio module or power line. A touch screen allows the status of the doors to be either changed manually or, for example, tied into a BUS controlled security system. As such, automatic functions can be stored, for example, to only permit an alarm to be activated if all doors are locked, or to lock all doors automatically as soon as the alarm is activated.
Garage side doors: Attractive and secure
Side doors leading to the garage or to a store room often play a very minor role in considerations to construct a new or renovate an existing building. Novoferm has fully revised and supplemented its range of garage side doors for BAU 2009, focusing on burglar protection and design. In future, all garage side doors will have a tubular frame construction made of aluminium that is as stable as it is high quality, and will be available with the same appearance as all iso 20 and iso 45 sectional door models. A range of different block, corner and clamp frames offer variable means of installation for virtually any installation condition. The garage side doors are optionally available with triple bolt and hinge lock for added burglar protection.
