Property Construction
Novoferm at BAU 2009: Sector: "Property Construction"
Multi-purpose doors: Fire, smoke and burglar protection packaged in an attractive design
BAU 2009,
Novoferm will be presenting a fully revised, multi-level programme of multi-purpose doors for the "property construction" sector. The level of fire and smoke protection, noise insulation, burglar resistance and design can be chosen to match the individual requirements of the respective property. Administrative buildings, hotels, commercial operations or clinics, multi-family homes or schools: the functional NovoFire® and NovoSecur® doors are ideal for virtually any application; their identical appearance offers endless combination options. Novoferm will also be presenting its range of frames and profiles that it has optimised, above all, to produce solutions that save time and money during installation. One example: the frame assembly of T30 doors with fire protection foam.
NovoFire® Alu glass: Transparent fire protection
Fire-resistant to T90, burglar-proof to RC 3 on T30 and a design that meets the most demanding architectural standards - these are the key features offered by the NovoFire® Alu glass transparent fire-resistant doors that Novoferm will be presenting at BAU 2009. The sleek aluminium tubular frame with a wall thickness of 4 mm offers high levels of stability and load-bearing capacity. As such, it takes just two roller hinges to support a door leaf weight of 200 kg. Door leaves up to 3 metres in height and fitted with roller hinges emphasise the superb design of the solution. The frame and door are flush, the system window strip fitted with EPDM seals permits the use of central dry glazing. RS, T30 and T90 NovoFire® Alu glass fire-resistant doors are available with one or two leaves and with external frame dimensions up to 1,500 x 3,000 and/or 3,000 x 3,000 mm. In response to numerous insurance companies' demands for increased burglar protection in public and private buildings, the T30 models now offer the optional feature of burglar resistance that complies with the requirements of DIN EN 1627 up to resistance class RC 3.
NovoFire® und NovoSecur®: Multi-functionality combined with design
The stringent functional and safety requirements placed on doors, especially in the public and commercial sector, and demanding architectural design requirements are constantly presenting new challenges for door manufacturers. With its new NovoFire® Vario 50 range and the fully revised NovoSecur® range, Novoferm will be offering architects and planners, dealers and craftsmen a system comprising genuinely multi-functional doors for virtually any application at BAU 2009.
The NovoFire® Vario 50 range is ideal for installation wherever fire protection doors are needed. Vario 50 doors are tested to DIN EN 1634 and approved in compliance with DIN 4102, are simple and quick to adjust thanks to the standard 3D hinge, and are also easy to install in gypsum partition walls, thanks to the wide choice of available frames. Comprehensive optional features, such as the NovoPush panic system approved in accordance with DIN EN 1125, offer special individual solutions for particular requirements. Smoke protection and noise insulation, for example, are optionally available in addition to fire protection, and without sacrificing design: Painted in the RAL colour of your choice or fitted with a wood-look veneer, the doors look the same irrespective of their features and merge harmoniously with their architectural surroundings regardless of whether they are installed indoors or used as multi-purpose doors outside.
If safety aspects focus more on burglar resistance than on fire protection, NovoSecur® safety doors offer a plethora of possibilities. NovoSecur® doors can be fitted with locking systems offering differing levels of protection to meet all safety needs - from a main lock with four locking points to a multiple locking system with six or eight locking points - to comply with the burglar resistance requirements of resistance class RC 2 as specified in DIN EN 1627. Fitted with the special 2140 profile, they can even be installed in gypsum partition walls. NovoSecur® safety doors offer a perfect combination of functional features and freedom of architectural design. The doors can be finished to merge harmoniously with even the most sophisticated office or hotel floors thanks to a wide range of available colours, high-class wood finishes, numerous glazing options and matching fanlights and top panels. Noise insulation up to 42 dB offers enhanced comfort despite a leaf thickness of just 40 mm. Other models in the NovoSecur® range are burglar-resistant to RC 3 and can be optionally fitted with fire and/or smoke protection - thus creating a seamless functional transition to the NovoFire® Vario 50 system.
Frames: Extensive compendium, easy installation
At BAU 2009, Novoferm will also be presenting its programme of frames and profiles that meet the needs of the widest range of different installation conditions and regulations. These include both classic corner and block frames for installation in masonry and special wrap-around frames for use in dry mortarless construction. The frame compendium, which Novoferm has completely revised in readiness for BAU 2009, offers comprehensive information about all frame models, and includes scale drawings, installation guidelines and assembly instructions. The programme is available on CD; once installed, it will provide answers to virtually any question that might arise in practice in respect of the approval, planning and installation of Novoferm steel frames. And it is always up to date, since amendments and new products are automatically updated via the internet.
Novoferm will also be showing a video at BAU 2009 to demonstrate how T30 door frames are back-filled with fire protection foam. The fire protection foam for corner frames, which is currently tested to the requirements of EN 1634-1 and approved in accordance with DIN 4102, replaces mortar back-filling and considerably facilitates the regulation-compliant and clean installation of T30 doors - while also saving a lot of time. Self-adhesive labels on the spray can adhere to the stipulated documentation for regulation-compliant installation; they contain all the necessary information and are simply attached to the test report.
