NOVOFERM OPENS THE DOOR TO FURTHER DIGITALISATION

Augmented reality 3D solution (AR) makes products tangible
Novoferm opens the door to further digitalisation

Werth, June 2021: Building a house may still be manual work, but digitalisation is also making steady inroads into the construction industry. From planning and construction site management to consultation appointments - digitalisation can make the various processes involved in planning and construction more efficient, modern and simple, saving not only time but also money!

As one of Europe's leading system providers of door and gate solutions and loading systems for private, commercial and industrial use, Novoferm is continuing on its consistent path towards digitalisation. Augmented reality, or AR for short, is one of the magic words here. AR is the computer-aided extension of the perception of reality, i.e. the supplementation of images or videos with additional information, as seen in television broadcasts of football matches, for example, where distances from the free kick to the goal are displayed.

Bringingproducts to life
For Novoferm, AR offers invaluable added value, especially when it comes to advice, which has increased even further in times of coronavirus, when advice is as contactless as possible. Retailers and fabricators can now present products to their customers virtually from all angles. Sebastian Borkus, Head of Marketing at Novoferm, explains: "Novoferm products can literally be experienced via our AR solution. For those who immerse themselves in the AR world, a wide range of features such as the quality, colour and equipment of the door can be easily varied using the ISO 70 sectional door as an example. Technical details are clearly visualised and guide the user intuitively through the selection of the new garage door." The Premium Plus sectional garage door (ISO 70) can be viewed from all sides. In 3D mode, the model of the door can be moved, rotated and enlarged using the zoom function. Special features of the door such as embossing, surfaces and window variants can be selected from the range with a simple click and integrated into the 3D model. This is a major advantage for dealers and fabricators, as the new digital application can be used both to promote sales in contact with end customers and to answer technical questions.

"Above all, the contact restrictions during the corona crisis have shown how important digitalisation and good networking are in today's world, and we at Novoferm are setting new standards in the presentation of our product range," says Sebastian Borkus.

With the 3DQR solutions, Novoferm offers 3D applications for integration in the showroom, for laptops and desktop PCs or as an app for smartphones or tablets. The German-language app is available free of charge in the App Store or Google Play under the search term "3DQR".
