Up-and-over garage doors

The up-and-over garage door is the classic garage door. In contrast to the sectional garage door, it swings out forwards when opening and closing.

While sectional doors disappear section by section under the garage ceiling, the entire door leaf of the up-and-over door moves as a unit, supported by two lateral lever arms. In doing so, it necessarily swings out, projecting a little beyond the garage opening.

Due to their movement mechanism, up-and-over garage doors require a certain amount of clearance in front of the garage. The door leaf of the up-and-over door "swings out", which is why a swivelling area must be allowed for in front of the garage.

A special door leaf frame for on-site filling offers the option of customised boarding. With this model, Novoferm supplies a stable yet flexible frame that can be filled with boards of your choice. This allows you to seamlessly harmonise the garage door with your house façade and create a continuous surface to match your house architecture without any interruptions.

The door leaf frame is offered in sepia brown, similar to RAL 8014, as standard.

Up-and-over garage doors offer cost-conscious buyers excellent value for money - without having to sacrifice attractive motifs and individual design options. Up-and-over garage doors are therefore a good solution for the secure closure of a detached garage.

Compared to modern sectional garage doors, single-walled up-and-over doors have lower insulating properties. For garages that are built directly next to the house, have a transition from the garage to the living area or are used for another purpose in addition to parking a car (garage as a workshop, storage room, living space, etc.), sectional garage doors with high thermal and sound insulation are generally used.

The door is opened approx. 10 cm to ventilate the garage. The door can be brought into the ventilation position from any position by pulsing the second button on the hand-held transmitter.

After 60 minutes, it closes either automatically or in advance by pressing the transmitter.

Another energy advantage of many of our operators is the low energy consumption of just 0.5 watts in stand-by mode.

The Novoferm up-and-over door with operator and triple locking (incl. BDIP rail) protects your property according to the safe principle. This is ensured by the locking mechanism on both sides using solid bolts in the frame and the self-locking mechanism of the operator on the top edge of the door leaf.

The additional floor-independent horizontal locking system with solid bolts in the side frames is tamper-proof because it cannot be reached from the outside, even with tools. There is no more secure way to lock an up-and-over door.

As soon as the door encounters an obstacle when closing, regardless of whether it is an object or a person, it stops and opens immediately at the slightest resistance.

Doors and frames are galvanised and polyester primed. For a harmonious appearance, the frame elements visible from the outside are painted in the gate colour - in an attractive colour of your choice.
