Efficient use of energy and other resources is an integral part of our corporate culture, as is continuous product and process optimisation in terms of sustainability. This enables us to offer our customers solutions with which modern building requirements can be reliably realised. Insulation, material and energy savings are also becoming increasingly important in industrial, logistics and property construction, and as these are complex structures, numerous measures are often necessary to achieve these goals.

SAVE ENERGY WITH NOVOFERM PRODUCT SOLUTIONS

Sustainable product development

Insulated and insulating components form the basis for maintaining an even temperature level in production, warehouses or other buildings or for effectively separating different temperature zones without disrupting operational processes. This is why we develop doors, gates and loading solutions that contribute to an improved energy balance.

Examples include the insulating Thermo industrial sectional doors with 80 mm insulation, high-speed roller shutters with high opening speeds to maintain the indoor climate, monitoring software for energy-efficient monitoring of the loading situation or the EVOLUTION sectional garage door with thermally separated sections and particularly high thermal insulation for private garages.

Industry & Logistics

  • Highly insulating Thermo industrial sectional doors in versions with 40, 60 or 80 mm panel thickness, with insulation values/ U-values up to 0.5 W/m²K
  • Hydraulic dock levellers with i-Vision control unit with energy-saving mode as standard
  • NovoDock L730i hydraulic dock levellers as ISO dock levellers with high energy efficiency for temperature-controlled warehouses and logistics halls; fully insulated, encapsulated design - also fully insulated during loading
  • i-Vision controls with energy-saving function or energy-saving mode

Garage door systems

  • Only from Novoferm: Evolution sectional door with thermal break
  • Significantly improved thermal insulation value of the section of U(p) = 0.46 Wm2K
  • Up to 17% improved thermal insulation for an installed door in the range of door solutions with comparable section thicknesses.
  • Alternatively, we offer the premium sectional door with the Extra Plus and insulation for particularly high thermal and sound insulation of the sections with a thermal insulation value of U(p) = 0.34 W/m²K and an overall section thickness of 70 mm

Tubular frame doors made of steel

  • The basic profile of the Novoferm "NovoFire Steel" tubular frame doors is made of 100% recyclable steel.
  • The use of standardised fittings with other Novoferm systems saves resources.
  • Our doors can be easily retrofitted with various components. This allows the system to be subsequently adapted to changing requirements. A complete replacement is not necessary.
  • The doors are produced using a special manufacturing process. The profiles are made from hot-dip coated sheet metal, which guarantees high corrosion resistance, even in the hollow chambers.

Door operator packaging

  • Conversion of the packaging of our garage door openers to eliminate the use of petroleum-based packaging products in future
  • Conversion from white to brown cardboard packaging and future elimination of shrink-wrapping of individual cardboard boxes
  • Plastic bags for small parts will largely be converted to cardboard packaging

Industry & Logistics

  • High-speed roller shutters in various designs with an opening speed of up to 2 m/s
  • In this way, the doors help to maintain the desired indoor climate and reduce energy losses

Novoferm products are tested according to relevant standards (BNB, BREEAM, LEED, DGNB) by means of a self-disclosure. Corresponding product verifications provide transparent information about the sustainability of our products, including with regard to the absence of harmful substances or limit values, recycling content or the ecological quality level.

We also scrutinise our own processes and supply chains. Whether it's energy efficiency in production and logistics, reducing emissions or further technical developments - we are always on the lookout for new potential for greater sustainability.

The Novoferm Group's environmental, health and safety policy

Our environmental, health and safety policy serves to implement a high level of environmental protection and occupational safety at all Novoferm Group sites.

Together with our quality and occupational health and safety policy, the environmental policy forms a closed management system and is binding for all employees and processes.

This ensures a synergy effect in connection with the ISO 9001 quality management system in all our operational and business areas. Individual companies are also certified to ISO 14001.

We endeavour to actively and continuously improve environmental protection and avoid environmental pollution.

The management and our employees are committed to using the resources provided, such as energy, water, machinery, equipment and raw materials and supplies, responsibly. Our maxim is to avoid and minimise environmental pollution, e.g. emissions, waste and waste water. Our company regards the fulfilment of legal and other requirements as a minimum requirement. The environmental policy serves as a guideline for the development of our environmental goals and their implementation.

We promote and demand responsibility within our organisation for the environment along our value chain. We involve our suppliers and customers in our efforts to achieve the highest possible level of sustainability.

Our efforts for environmental sustainability, health and safety apply equally to all Novoferm Group sites.

In the development and production of our products, we pay attention to the use of recyclable materials to reduce C02 emissions and avoid hazardous substances wherever possible. This results in ecologically sustainable products right from the start.

As part of the internal and external quality audits, environmentally relevant and safety-relevant aspects are constantly checked.

NOVOFERM SELF-DISCLOSURE FOR REACH INTRODUCTION

The European REACH Regulation No. 1907/2006, which was first published in 2006, aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can arise from chemicals. REACHstands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisationand Restrictionof Chemicals. This regulation imposes various obligations on manufacturers, distributors and importers to register, handle and provide information on the relevant substances. As the Novoferm Group, we are clearly committed to the objectives of the REACH regulation and implement the requirements that affect us.

One of the focal points is the duty of manufacturers, distributors and importers to provide information. If they contain SVHC substances (Substances of Very High Concern) in concentrations of 0.1 per cent by mass or more, they are obliged to name the substances to their customers and also provide information on their safe use. These limit values apply to individual components and not to the product as a whole.

We work on the general avoidance of SVHC substances in the development and design of our products. Furthermore, we are in constant contact with our suppliers in order to avoid possible SVHC substances in the supply chain and, if possible, to replace them with less harmful substances. Here too, we fulfil our duty to provide information and inform our suppliers about relevant substances.

Various of our products, components and merchandise contain so-called SVHC substances with a concentration of more than 0.1 % by mass. You can find a detailed overview of these substances in the following table, which also fulfils our duty to provide information under the REACH Regulation. The list is updated at regular intervals in accordance with the requirements of the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) candidate list.

Novoferm is expressly committed to the goal of protecting the environment.

Novoferm has no manufacturing processes in which the RoHS directives apply. However, compliance with the RoHS Directive is important to our company and we require our suppliers to comply with it consistently.

Based on the information provided by our suppliers, the corresponding products in accordance with the RoHS Directive do not contain any substances that are above the permitted maximum concentration values.

The RoHS conformity of our suppliers confirms that they comply with the RoHS Directive and do not exceed the limits set by the European Parliament for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and polybrominated biphenols or polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
