ALUMINIUM ROLLER SHUTTERS - INDIVIDUAL AND UNIVERSAL

Our roller shutters are customised and universal door closures. They comply with all applicable guidelines and standards. It goes without saying that we also install them in accordance with existing DIN regulations. The profile design and the high-quality clear lacquer coating on aluminium doors make your roller shutter door the calling card of your home. Coloured surfaces are also available on request.

You have the choice between several roller shutter door designs as well as numerous fittings and accessories.

WHY ROLLER SHUTTERS FROM NOVOFERM?

EUROPEAN SAFETY STANDARDS

According to the European standard EN 13241, industrial doors must fulfil many safety requirements. The aim of all requirements is to ensure that people are not injured or goods damaged when handling a door. The risk of entrapment must be minimised and there must be no risk of the open door falling.

Novoferm develops and manufactures all doors strictly in accordance with these standards. The relevant certificates and test reports can be requested and presented.

BURGLAR ALARM

Anti-burglary device to prevent the door curtain from being lifted, with lock for on-site cylinder, handle, laterally enclosing linkage and switch-off contact.

AUTOMATIC SERVO LOCK

Electromechanical servo roller shutter door lock, on both sides. Up to 6000 mm.

ACCIDENT PROTECTION CONTACT STRIP

Accident protection contact strip under the end profile on the bottom edge of the door, causes an immediate stop if the closing door curtain hits an obstacle; the curtain then moves upwards.

Generally included with automatically operated doors, otherwise on request.

SHUTTER DOOR

Standard size 875 x 2,000 mm, for pedestrian traffic with closed door, with swivelling or fixed side panel (total width approx. 1050 mm).

A side door in the side section can also be filled with louvres, with visual similarity to the roller shutter door.

TH100 ROLLTORE
Double-walled thermally insulated slats in natural aluminium with clear lacquer as standard. With colour coating on request. Also available with window slats. End profile natural untreated aluminium

100 mm aluminium slats
More conventional profile shape with double-walled construction, also with thermally insulating core made of rigid polyurethane foam, but approx. 23 mm thick. High surface stability due to adhesive-free bonding of shell and rigid foam.

THGL100 Glazed aluminium
Double-skin glazed aluminium slats with window cut-outs, double-skin plastic insert (crystal clear), max. 10 slats with window cut-outs, surfaces as TH100. End profile natural untreated aluminium.

TH80 ROLLTORE
Double-walled thermally insulated slats in natural aluminium with clear lacquer as standard. With colour coating on request. Also available with window slats. End profile in untreated natural aluminium.

80 mm aluminium slats
double-walled, approx. 20 mm thick. With thermally insulating polyurethane rigid foam core in adhesive-free bond with the shell, therefore maximum surface stability. Specially developed profile shape with a high-quality look enables significantly tighter winding and lower lintel height.

THGL80 aluminium glazed
Double-glazed aluminium slats with window cut-outs, double-skinned plastic insert (not crystal clear), max. 5 slats with window cut-outs per roller shutter, surfaces as TH80.

Colours

All roller shutters are available with colour coating on one or both sides at an extra charge up to max. 6000 x 5000 mm.

End profile for all roller shutters in natural bright aluminium as standard. The door leaf can optionally be finished with a factory-applied paint finish in the RAL colours listed below.
The exact colour of the paint finish may vary slightly. Steel and aluminium profiles also available painted to RAL colour chart (except fluorescent and traffic colours).

Plug-on drive

Dead man's control

The simplest control is the so-called dead man's control. The door opens after pressing the 'Open door' pushbutton once. To close the door, the 'Close door' pushbutton must be pressed until the door is closed.

Impulse control
With impulse control, the door opens fully after the 'Door open' pushbutton is pressed and closes fully again after the 'Door closed' pushbutton is pressed. (Only in conjunction with a closing edge safety device).

Automatic closing by timer
Automatic closing by timer is only permitted in combination with a safety contact strip and a safety light barrier in the clear opening.

Technical data roller shutters

Slip-on drive (standard):

Maintenance-free, completely oil-tight encapsulated worm gearbox - mounted directly on the steel shaft of the tube axis, with significantly reduced installation and maintenance costs compared to other arrangements. Integrated maintenance-free, self-monitoring and position-independent safety gear as well as an encapsulated limit switch unit with precisely adjustable limit and safety limit switches flange-mounted directly on the gearbox.

Emergency hand crank or quick-action hand chain for manual operation in the event of a power failure. All electrical connections on the operator can be plugged in. Operating voltage 400 V three-phase current. Operator TÜV and VDE tested.

Slip-on drive
(standard)

Sprocket drive with safety gear (special dimensions):

Maintenance-free, completely oil-tight encapsulated worm gear safety drive with attached limit switch unit including emergency hand crank or quick-action hand chain - as described for the shaft-mounted drive, but with the required steel sprockets and the appropriate roller chain for power transmission from the drive to the tubular roller.

This requires the TÜV-approved safety gear, which is able to prevent the door from falling even if the load-bearing equipment fails.

Tubular roller:
Made of steel, primed, dimensioned according to the permissible deflection of 1/500 of its length, with a minimum diameter of 168 mm for better winding of the curtain.

Bracket fastening:
By means of dowel mounting, screw-through mounting or weld-on mounting. In the case of weld-on installation, fastening is carried out on the on-site substructure or on anchor plates to be inserted in advance, in accordance with our offset plans.

Self-aligning ball bearing:
Large dimensions, to support the tubular roller, mounted on brackets.

Emergency operation:
From the floor with emergency hand chain.

Assembly / electrical installation:
Our assembly conditions are harmonised with the existing DIN regulations. Accordingly, the installation and connection of all electrical parts in accordance with our circuit diagrams as well as the power supply and wiring of the parts to each other with the required cables is a service provided by the customer.

A back-up fuse and lockable main switch must also be provided by the customer.

EPDM tube seal for insertion into TH80 profile

Guiderail FS2
for all our roller shutters. Guide rail made of steel, sendzimir galvanised, with attached plastic strips, also with side seal, installation also possible without welding with steel brackets.

To prevent heat loss and draughts, plastic mouldings on the inside of the door have a brush edge.

Installation situations and applications

Novoferm roller shutters are suitable for numerous installation situations and applications. Below you will find some examples. All details can be found in the detailed installation instructions.

Installation situations

Side trim profile required if the space required for the roller shutter connection is too small / not available. Steel profile dimensioned to match the door weight.

Lintel seal for V80 / TH100 against heat loss and draughts:
- V80 with Perlon brushes
- TH100 up to 5 m wide with rubber lip seal, from 5 m wide with Perlon brushes

Lintel seal for TH80 against heat loss and draughts: with TH80 slat with permanently integrated plastic seal.

Vertical lintel cover required if there is no lintel. Panel made of the same profiles as the curtain, fixed, enclosed in a steel frame, optionally folded from galvanised sheet metal.

Horizontal lintel cover required if lintel sits back. Fixed cover, made of galvanised sheet metal, single or thermally insulated depending on the door version.
