Information in accordance with the General Product Safety Regulation
As part of the Product Safety Ordinance, new legal obligations in online sales will come into force for shop operators from 13 December 2024. Among other things, these relate to the information requirements for products offered in online shops.
In accordance with Article 19 of the Regulation, the following additional information must be provided for each product in the online shop from this date
- The name, registered trade name or registered trade mark of the manufacturer as well as the postal address and e-mail address at which the manufacturer can be contacted.
- If the manufacturer is not established in the Union, the contact details (name, postal address, e-mail address) of the responsible person (in accordance with Article 16(1) of the Regulation or Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020).
- Information enabling the identification of the product, including an image of the product, its type and other product identifiers.
Any warnings or safety information provided on the product itself, on the packaging or in an accompanying document. This information must be provided in all languages of the respective countries in which the product is offered in the web shop.
