Munich/Rees, January 2017 - BAU 2017, the world's leading construction trade fair, is a must-attend event for Federal Building Minister Dr Barbara Hendricks. But despite the more than 2,000 exhibitors in Munich, Dr Hendricks also took time this year to visit the Novoferm stand - the third-largest exhibitor at BAU 2017 - because the successful European manufacturer of doors, gates, frames and operators not only stands for new trends and technologies, Novoferm is also one of the largest companies and employers in the Kleverland region and is based in the minister's constituency.
Minister Dr Hendricks was welcomed and given a tour of the more than 820 square metre stand by Rainer Schackmann, Chairman of the Novoferm Management Board. He informed the Minister about a very pleasing business development, because on the one hand demand is increasing in commercial construction and from private users, and on the other hand the company is convincing with technical and aesthetic innovations and practical applications. The Novoferm team of around 80 employees presented the products directly to the Minister at the Novoferm stand, which was accessible to visitors from all sides, in a real installation situation - literally hands-on solutions that show how modern solutions for doors and gates can contribute to improving the quality of living, the city and the quality of life.
Dr Hendricks, who is also responsible for the environment, was particularly interested in the trend towards greater energy efficiency in industry and logistics. Novoferm's new, thermally insulating doors are a perfect example of this, high-speed doors and intelligent high-techindustrial doorsthat only open as far as is necessary for loading or passage. Both products help to significantly improve the energy balance of large warehouses and production halls. Novoferm also supports the trend towards greater energy efficiency in private and commercial buildings, as CEO Rainer Schackmann explained to the Minister.
Dr Hendricks was also able to see another trend for herself: Now that Novoferm has long since perfected functions such as fire protection, burglary protection and user-friendliness, the focus is increasingly shifting to visual appearance. Novoferm is responding to this, for example, with fire protection-tested doors and all-glass walls that give architects completely new scope for design.
Rainer Schackmann and his team were delighted that the Federal Minister visited the Novoferm stand again this year after 2015: "It's nice to be able to build on our common roots in the Lower Rhine region even in a globalised world and fast-moving times and to have such an open and engaging conversation with the Minister. A very welcome visit."
