New tool: Novoferm solution generator for architects and planners
Practical planning support for building projects
Werth, December 2021. Planning safely with Novoferm and taking a look into the future?
No problem. A new planning tool helps architects, planners and industrial customers to make the right product decisions for upcoming projects: The Novoferm Solution Generator. Where others see problems in the realisation and correct selection of products, the new Novoferm tool offers solutions for building projects - right from the planning phase. A real practical aid, because the increasing demands of clients and building owners as well as new standards and regulations increase the complexity of the tasks and require up-to-date expertise. This is another reason why Novoferm - as one of Europe's leading system providers of door and gate solutions and loading systems for private, commercial and industrial use - is specifically supporting architects, planners and industrial customers in their day-to-day work with the new application.
Sebastian Borkus, Head of Marketing, Novoferm: "With our solution generator, users can quickly and easily get an overview of the functionality, appearance and features of the Novoferm products stored in the database and how they fit into the building project. This allows different products to be selected and configured and provides valuable up-to-date information on the necessary regulations that need to be taken into account in the construction project." No programme training or similar is required - the new tool guides users intuitively and step by step through the programme.
Wide range of options
As with every new project, the first question is: "What should be built or renovated?" The next step is to interactively select the type of building, such as single-family or multi-family house, hotel, office and administration or underground car park, to determine the product types and properties, e.g. sheet steel or tubular frame doors, frames or gates. In the third and fourth steps, the location and area of use are determined, e.g. outside or inside, corridors, laboratories, stairwells. This completes the preliminary selection. "Then it's time for the detailed planning. Our tool can be used to determine the visual and functional requirements, for example that the sheet steel doors selected for the building project must be equipped with fire and smoke protection properties for interior use and also have sound insulation due to additional specifications in the planning. Users can specify all the details here with a click and then receive a product recommendation based on their selection," explains Sebastian Borkus.
Stored functions offer customised added value
If desired, the configuration can be adjusted at this point or completely restarted. At each configuration step, the user can click on the relevant "info points" to obtain additional information if required (e.g. information on fire protection): Finally, a clear summary of the product configuration is generated with one click, including an approximate gross list price for initial orientation - calculated using reference versions, sizes and equipment as examples.
But that's not all, because the Novoferm solution generator has even more functions: Architects, planners or industrial customers also have access to the following functions via the solution generator:
- Simple creation of product data sheets based on the configuration
- Generation of tender texts as PDF, DOC and in GAEB-compatible format (D81) for easy import of the desired tender texts into the AVA programme
- Contact via an online form, which is assigned to the correct contact person in the Novoferm lead system
The Novoferm solution generator is regularly expanded with new Novoferm products and supplements the web-based specialist portal for architects and planners that is already available, which supports all Novoferm partners in their daily work, simplifies planning processes and provides practical knowledge.
