Float instead of slide: New door system impresses with convenience, elegance and versatility
Werth, January 2019. Automatic sliding doors have long been part of everyday life in retail and public buildings. In German homes, offices and surgeries, however, they are still the exception, unlike in Italy or France, for example. With the new NovoSlide Wall Rapid sliding door, Novoferm is now ensuring smooth movement in this market. The door system, which runs in front of the wall, visibly enhances both private and commercial spaces. It impresses with an integrated intelligent magnetic floating drive that can be controlled very flexibly. NovoSlide Wall Rapid is a technologically advanced and highly elegant door option that literally creates more space, enables barrier-free passageways and is also suitable for buildings with high footfall thanks to its maintenance-free drive and control options.
NovoSlide Wall Rapid is the logical further development of the manually operated NovoSlide Wall sliding door system. The NovoSlide Wall is designed for steel, timber, glass or aluminium frame doors and impresses with its very high-quality roller carriages, which move in a robust aluminium track with a stainless steel look. This combination enables the door leaf to slide particularly smoothly and easily up to a door leaf weight of 120 kg.
As an option, the NovoSlide Wall can be fitted with a space-saving two-way soft closing mechanism, which enables a very narrow installation width. Even very narrow doors can be damped on both sides. A high-quality floor guide system consisting of a guide roller and an aluminium profile that can be recessed into a wooden door leaf provide additional ease of use. Finally, steel passage frames make the NovoSlide Wall a highly functional and durable overall system; the robust passage frames are suitable for installation alongside walls as well as for retrofitting. They are supplied in three or six parts, which makes transport to and from the construction site child's play.
With the optional low energy magnetic drive, Novoferm, as one of the leading European system suppliers of doors, gates, frames and drives, transforms the classic sliding door into an ultra-modern floating door that can be fixed to the wall or ceiling. The door leaves are moved almost silently by the drive. Users can either give the command using a proximity switch, an app or remote control, a button or use infrared sensors for fully automatic opening.
NovoSlide Wall Rapid offers a range of technical refinements to fulfil the highest standards of convenience and safety. These include automatic obstacle detection and the system automatically memorises the end points. The opening and closing speeds of the door can be set as required and the "Touch-To-Go" operation ensures that even a slight push on the door triggers the automatic opening process.
The benefits of additional setting options are particularly evident in commercial buildings such as doctors' surgeries or offices: For example, an individually definable hold-open time - from 5 to 30 seconds - can be selected and in "permanently open" mode, the door only closes after the button is pressed again.
