Novoferm tormatic GmbH, a specialist in operator and control technology for garage doorsand industrial door systems, won over the expert jury in the category of innovative strength and innovation management. Key to success
The award was presented at the end of June by "Top 100" mentor Ranga Yogeshwar. Prior to this, Novoferm tormatic had undergone a two-stage scientific analysis process. The Dortmund-based drive and control specialists impressed the jury with a clearly defined and precisely structured innovation process. The key to success is close proximity to the market and regular contact with customers. At tormatic, we know that the most valuable information comes from first-hand experience. Initial ideas for possible new developments mature from constant market observations and targeted personal discussions.
Once an innovation idea is born in this way, the team works with the management to find promising solutions. "We don't shy away from partnerships either," says Michael Glanz. This has already resulted in numerous innovative new products and improvements in the past, which have laid the foundations for the company's current success. The most recent example is "iControl", a control system specially designed for industrial doors and control technology specially developed for industrial doors.
This technology, which has already won the prestigious R+T Innovation Award, allows the door opening to adapt individually to the size of a vehicle passing through. About the competition
The "Top 100" award, which was presented at the German SME Summit in Essen, is based on a two-stage analysis developed by Prof Dr Nikolaus Franke and his team from the Chair of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The scientists analyse the innovation management and innovation success of SMEs based on over 100 parameters in five categories. This year, Franke and his team analysed more applications than ever before: Out of 302 qualifiers, 234 companies made it to the final. 178 of them received the award in three size categories.
