Rees, 1 July 2016 - The acquisition of the Norsud Group by Novoferm was formally signed on Thursday, 30 June 2016. The acquisition of the Norsud Group, one of the leading suppliers on the French market for industrial doors and loading technologies, strengthens Novoferm's position as an international full-service provider of products and logistics solutions.
Novoferm, one of the major European system suppliers of doors, gates, frames and operators, is accelerating its growth in France with the acquisition of the Norsud Group. Founded in the 1960s, the company is wholly owned by Norsud, GPS and Automanu. With these subsidiaries, the group has established a leading role in the market for industrial customers. The key to this is the wide range of complementary and individually configurable solutions, e.g. for sectional doors, high-speed doors, roller shutters and loading systems.
With this acquisition, Novoferm is once again expanding its expertise in the market as an industrial solutions provider and is thus consistently pursuing its forward-looking international strategy. The aim is to be able to offer industrial customers the entire product world in the field of innovative door and loading technology from a single source.
"The acquisition of the Norsud Group strengthens Novoferm in two ways. The established and recognised partner significantly improves our ability to serve the French market, and the products and solutions of the new Novoferm subsidiary are an ideal addition to our range of services. This brings us a big step closer to our strategic goal of establishing ourselves as a full-service provider for innovative door systems and loading technology throughout Europe," says Rainer Schackmann, CEO of the Novoferm Group, explaining the background to the move
The technical expertise and nationwide coverage of the markets by the four Norsud regional branches in Paris, Nantes, Lyon and Marseille are key factors in achieving this goal quickly. At the same time, there are synergy effects, particularly in the area of production.
Michel Akoum, Managing Director of Novoferm France, sees Norsud and Novoferm as an ideal complement and the acquisition as a logical step: "We are combining industrial expertise in the manufacture of first-class products with experience and expertise in fields such as project management and services. By choosing Norsud, we have decided to work with a dynamic and competent team that has detailed knowledge and innovative ideas in the field of safety and optimised loading technology."
With the acquisition of the Norsud Group, the Novoferm Group now employs over 500 people in France, generating an annual turnover of over 100 million euros.
Today's acquisition underlines the Novoferm Group's ambition to expand its role as a supplier of innovative products for the industry and to stand out as a specialised partner for loading technology.
