Rees, May 2014 Novoferm, one of the major European system suppliers of doors, gates, frames and operators, is taking over the Dutch company Alpha Deuren International B.V., one of Europe's leading sectional door manufacturers, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. With this takeover, Novoferm is consistently strengthening its international position, particularly in the industrial door sector.
"With this acquisition, we are consistently expanding our service portfolio and sustainably sharpening our profile in international competition. Alpha Deuren is a perfect fit for Novoferm, both operationally and strategically. Both companies share the same corporate philosophy of innovative strength, uncompromising quality and reliability. In addition, this strategic decision opens up numerous synergy effects for us, particularly in the industrial door sector," says Rainer Schackmann, CEO of the Novoferm Group, explaining the background. "The Novoferm Group already produces industrial doors for the European market in 2 plants in the Netherlands. The Alpha Deuren product portfolio ideally complements the Novoferm product range," Schackmann continues.
Alpha Deuren International B.V., based in Didam, near Arnhem, has around 150 employees. The company has achieved its current market position in just 19 years. Production is highly automated, very efficient and ideally tailored to the needs of customers. Alpha Deuren has a strong presence in countries such as Germany, France and the Netherlands and distributes exclusively through specialised dealers. In addition to ISO and aluminium sectional doors for industrial buildings, the company's product range also includes garage doors for residential buildings.
The successful company development of the last 19 years will be further strengthened by the affiliation to Novoferm. Erik Scheepers, founder and CEO of Alpha Deuren, sees the merger of the two companies as an important development step for Alpha Deuren: "I am very happy about the merger with Novoferm as a strong partner. I know that our company is in good hands here. I am sure that this will make us even more successful in the future." A corresponding agreement on the takeover was signed on 30 April. The approval of the antitrust authorities is still pending.
