Platform strategy bears fruit
PREMIO as an all-rounder and PLANO for HIGH-end design

Based on the platform strategy launched in 2015 for the Novo-Porta Premio and Plano door series, Novoferm has consistently expanded its portfolio as a leading European system supplier of doors, gates, frames and operators. At BAU 2019, the company will be presenting a variety of new solutions for different requirements and areas of application. The Premio lives up to its reputation as an "all-rounder" with new formats and new solutions for burglary and fire protection as well as bullet resistance; the range of applications for the design-oriented Plano has been further expanded with size extensions and various extras and additional features.
Thanks to a size extension of the NovoPorta Premio EI2 30, Novoferm can now also fulfil requirements for larger doors based on its platform. This means that planners can now choose from Premio thick rebate doors with the same appearance for all size ranges, which makes project management even easier. The Premio EI2 30 is now available as a single-leaf door up to an installation dimension of 1500 x 3000 mm, while the double-leaf version is offered in formats up to a maximum of 3000 x 3000 mm. To ensure optimum door leaf stability, Novoferm generally equips all door leaf heights from 2510 mm with a third door hinge. The door can also be supplied with smoke protection and sound insulation. As usual with Novoferm, the new oversizes are also extremely versatile in terms of configuration.
Novoferm is responding to the increasing security requirements of commercial and private customers with two products. With the Premio RC4 multi-purposesecurity doors Novoferm has developed an extremely stable door construction that easily fulfils the strict requirements of the RC4 tests. This is achieved, among other things, by a solid multi-point locking system with hook bolts. In addition, the door can be equipped with electric lock functions, in contrast to the E-S 11 pre-latch model. This means that the Premio RC4 can be integrated into the increasingly important access control systems; it also fulfils the desire of customers - including private customers - for greater security by "upgrading" the RC2 door designs that have been common up to now.
In view of the increasing demand for bullet-resistant doors in larger formats, Novoferm is also presenting a double-leaf version of the Premio special door S-D-2 FB4 RC3 at BAU 19. The solution is attractive for use in publicly accessible areas of police stations, courts and other security-sensitive facilities, but also for discerning private individuals. Despite bullet resistance in accordance with bullet resistance class FB4 and burglary protection RC3 as standard, the door's outstanding protective function is not obvious. The bullet-resistant special steel insert is invisible and the door retains the typical appearance of every Premio, which is particularly important to many customers.
Novoferm has also focussed on customer requirements by offering additional equipment variants for the single-leaf Premio fire doorsOperators of large logistics and dispatch centres, for example, attach great importance to ensuring that fire protection does not restrict the mobility of employees. Novoferm ensures this by offering the option of installing Premio EI2 30 and EI2 90 without thresholds, even at greater installation heights. The installation of a lowerable floor seal and multi-layer foaming strips in the lower U-profile of the door leaf also ensures smooth processes for grating passages in the higher installation levels of the firewall passages.
In addition to ease of use, Novoferm also attaches particular importance to cost-effectiveness and simplifying the installation of the door solutions. One example of this is the EasyFit frame backfill for the Premio EI2 30, which was only introduced in summer 2018 and is particularly advantageous in drywall construction. For this purpose, a standard corner frame is fitted with special foamers pre-installed at the factory, thus guaranteeing a 30-minute fire resistance time - without any additional work on the construction site. According to the motto "screw on and you're done", there is no need for the usual time-consuming backfilling work, and the risk of installation errors is virtually zero, even for inexperienced fitters.
Novoferm's European orientation is also reflected in the new products presented at BAU. As the first manufacturer with a European Technical Assessment (ETA) for fire-resistant internal doors, Novoferm consistently focuses on CE-marked construction types in EI2 30 and EI2 90. In addition, with the Premio EI2 60, the company has added a highly fire-resistant door to its range, which is tailored to the needs of foreign markets in particular. The Premio EI2 60 is available as a single-leaf door up to a construction dimension of 1375 x 2500 mm and as a double-leaf door up to 2500 x 2500 mm - naturally with the full range of Novoferm equipment options.
The flush-fitting NovoPorta Plano design series, also based on the NovoPorta door platform, is enjoying growing popularity among architects and users with the highest design requirements as the "most beautiful side of fire protection", so to speak. Novoferm has therefore added new sizes to the programme for the EI2 30 door and developed equipment enhancements that give this flush-mounted design an even more elegant and discreet appearance.
The single-leaf Plano can now be supplied in formats up to 1375 x 2750 mm. The additional features smoke protection or multi-point locking with RC2 burglary protection are also available for the oversize version. In addition, users can now also opt for attractive top sections - with full leaf or large glazed areas - for all single and double-leaf EI2 30 Plano doors; the top sections can of course be easily removed if the passage height needs to be increased. Finally, with optional extras such as concealed door hinges with a stainless steel look and concealed overhead door closers, the Plano fulfils the highest design requirements - making the door indisputably one of the most elegant fire protection solutions on the market.
