Tips & tricks for garage doors
Your garage is probably much more than just a parking space for your car. It may also be used as a storage room, a workshop and/or space for parties. In these and other contexts, it must often be possible to enter and exit it quickly and easily.
Whether it's for fetching individual garden tools, trying out a bicycle tyre that has just been repaired or going to the toilet at a party, having the entire garage door open and close again all the time is generally not very practical. As versatile and advantageous as modern garage doors are, the use of a door is far more practical in these and similar contexts.
Unfortunately, it is not always easy to create such a passageway. Is your garage perhaps also too narrow for an additional door or is its installation difficult in other ways? Then a garage door with a wicket door is the perfect solution.
A garage door with door is often the most sensible alternative, especially for garage owners who cannot easily realise the integration of an entrance for people. In addition to the possibility of being able to use a door at all, there are the following additional advantages. Some of these are in fact also of interest to you if a door opening would be possible in your garage.
Neat integration: Visually, the door fits very neatly into a garage door.
No chiselling work: Retrofitting a garage door in a wall creates a lot of dirt. In general, a garage door with a door naturally means less structural work.
Emergency exit: A door in the garage door is a useful emergency exit - even officially.
Garage door with door and window: If your garage has no or only small windows, it is possible to compensate for this with corresponding fields in a garage door and its door.
Comfort: There are door systems in garage doors that have a very flat entrance edge, which ensures the best comfort when using them.
Save energy costs or insulation: On the one hand, an electric garage door naturally has to be operated less often if a door is available. On the other hand, it also keeps heat in the garage in winter and heat out in summer.
There are actually several different types of garage door with door. Two variants are particularly common with a built-in passageway - the sectional door and the up-and-over door with door.
Sectional doors with door: If you are looking for a garage door with a door, you will most often come across sectional doors. Doors can be integrated relatively easily and such doors are also generally extremely practical.
Up-and-over garage door with door: An up-and-over garage door with wicket door is also a common option. This is usually the cheapest option for garage doors with a door.
Roller garage door with door: Roller garage doors with a door are rather atypical. The often narrow slats make integration difficult. In some variants, a door is therefore placed next to the roller door, which then only has the look of the slats, but cannot be rolled upwards.
Swing door with door: Extra integrated doors are generally only an issue in connection with very large swing doors. With average dimensions, one of the door leaves simply functions as a door.
Wicket doors for garage doors are also available with window areas or at least with transparent sections as light passages. With a corresponding option, there is the opportunity to let significantly more daylight into the garage.
This is always useful. However, if there is not enough space for a door, there will probably be few or no windows. This makes a garage door with door and window even more relevant.
