Saving energy with Novoferm industrial doors
Keeping the heat in the hall / Energy efficiency without restrictions
Speed is of the essence in industrial production. But where many people with goods come and go, heat loss can hardly be avoided. To improve the energy efficiency of warehouses and production facilities, Novoferm has further expanded its range of door solutions for industrial buildings. Sectional doors with thermal separation keep different temperature zones safely separated from each other. Integrated wicket doors and high-speed doors enable a smooth production process and save energy at the same time.
More energy efficiency through thermal separation
Thermal insulation is becoming increasingly important for ecological and economic reasons. Novoferm has therefore now also developed thermally separated aluminium sections for its sectional doors with 40 mm panels. They achieve class 3 in terms of air and water permeability, meaning that all Novoferm sectional doors (40, 60 and 80 series) are now available with thermally broken aluminium sections.
New wicket door with many advantages
Thermo sectional doors have proven themselves as all-rounders. The integration of a wicket door saves additional energy, as the entire sectional door does not have to be opened each time to enter or leave the building. Novoferm has now developed a new wicket door, which will initially be introduced for the 40 mm Thermo sectional door in a width of up to 1.25 metres. The adjustable hinges make the wicket door easier to install and easier to lock. It also protects against jamming and allows the door to be adjusted over a longer period of time.
Another plus: the panels of the wicket door can be replaced without dismantling the entire door. Thanks to the reduced threshold height of maximum 14.5 mm, the wicket door also fulfils the requirements as an escape door. Novoferm has also optimised the performance features of the wicket door. Water tightness class 3 and air tightness class 3 ensure that doors with the new wicket door can withstand extreme conditions even better. The 40 mm door with the new thermally broken aluminium sections and the wicket door will be launched on the market in the second quarter of 2023.
T-Door prevents heat loss
The combination of an energy-saving loading bridge with a specially adapted sectional door offers a particularly effective way of minimising heat loss at the loading point. The new T-Door from Novoferm, in conjunction with the new NovoDock L730 dock leveller, ensures that no energy is lost. Thanks to the special T-shaped recess in the lower door area, the thermal sectional door can close the opening under the dock leveller. One advantage of this door shape is that no additional structural measures are required in the hall floor for the door guide. This also makes the T-Door ideal for retrofitting. It is due to be launched on the market in the third quarter of 2023.
Growth in high-speed doors
Novoferm is once again expanding its range of high-speed doors. The Speedroller Prime XF - the luxury version of the Prime door - is being supplemented by an ISO version. The Prime XF ISO with an insulated door leaf with a total thickness of approx. 8 mm has been on the market since the end of 2022. The door for openings up to 12.25m2 is ideal for use in cold stores.
Specially for cleanrooms
Since January 2023, Novoferm has been offering the self-repairing NovoZip high-speed door for fast and frequently used passages in a new variant for cleanrooms. To maintain the pressure differences, as little air as possible must escape through the doors. For this purpose, Novoferm has equipped the NovoZip Cleanroom door with special seals and a weighted bottom beam. The cleanroom version has been tested in accordance with EN 12427:2000.
